Avoiding forever upgrading to Windows 10

Since Microsoft released a new version of its operating system, Windows 10, there have been many strategies followed by the company to get this latest version to reach the largest possible number of users. Downloading all files in the new system without users knowledge or including a notification system in the security update of Internet Explorer are some of them.

However, in recent months we have seen some tricks or applications that allow you to avoid installing Windows 10 on your computer accidentally. These tools prevented notifications or advertisements for installation or automatic downloading of the operating system on your hard drive.

Activating Fast Startup in Windows 10

  • by

One of the improvements that anyone can notice after trying Windows 10 is that the startup is significantly faster than in previous systems. Microsoft has worked the code hard for the essential services to load by themselves and delivers a well optimized system as standard, which requires little maintenance by the user or third-party software.

If you bought a new standard computer with Windows 10 or have performed a clean installation of the system, you have probably already configured correctly the Fast Startup. If, however, you have upgraded from earlier versions of Windows we recommend the following steps to improve the startup speed of your system:

The way to Sharing Files Between Windows 10 and VMware virtual hard disk

This type of sharing allows us to access the storage units of the host device without sharing folders on network and also with direct control in the virtual device. It is simple to use and allows us not to occupy the virtual device with more data than the absolutely necessary.

We have spoken many times of the advantages of doing pretesting of settings and programs in a virtual device. It is a practice that may seem difficult to some, but you end up saving many hours and headaches. One of the things that makes using a virtual device much more pleasant is sharing host folders which facilitates data access to both the host and the guest machine.

How to allow multiple RDP sessions in Windows 10 without modifying system files

Concurrent remote sessions allow multiple users to access the operating system to run applications simultaneously, using their user’s profiles, email, etc. always simultaneously. It is a feature found in Windows server versions and it’s a Microsoft technology that requires unitary license per simultaneous user.

With the program we are going to show you today you can do the same with any home version of Windows, even the ones which initially do not support remote desktop such as “core” or “home”. RDP Wrapper allows us precisely this without having to do the classical modification of replacing or modifying the file termsrv.dll.

Configure properly switching to Tablet Mode in Windows 10

It is understood that Microsoft has to train the user in the different use modes and Continuum is an important change and all information is welcome. The problem is when we know how to use it and we are tired of messages, confirmations, etc.

With this little trick that we will show you which is the most efficient way to manage the automatic switch to tablet mode or traditional PC mode. It is a simple process and will allow us to get the best of our two-in-one computer.

We all know that from the notifications panel we can switch Windows 10 tablet mode, but we also have an automatic switch system which, for example, activate traditional laptop mode when we connect the screen to the dock with keyboard or to an external screen or to our desktop dock where we have our keyboard, mouse, etc.

Tablet Mode

To change this automatic switch setting we just have to modify some simple parameters in the configuration of Windows 10. We can access directly by pressing the right mouse button in the notification panel, on the button “tablet mode”. We can also do it from configuration, system, tablet mode.

Enable MAC randomizer in Windows 10

This trick requires some hardware, but it is certainly interesting. It enables us to make our hardware address to be different in each wireless connection and therefore to be more difficult to trace using typical tracking wireless networks applications. Our hardware always looks different and therefore we will be more hidden in public and private networks.

The method is easy to activate. We just have to go to the network settings of Windows 10, select Wi-Fi and “advanced options“.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Review

  • by

On October 6th we attended the event Microsoft® called ‘Windows 10 Devices’ in which, along with new terminals of the range of Lumia, presented the renewal of its Pro range of convertibles. If you’re thinking about getting one, do not miss our analysis of the Surface Pro 4, the most anticipated convertible by Microsoft®.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4

Since its birth, in early 2013, the Surface Pro family has two basic principles. First, to combine under the same manufacturer both hardware (the computer itself), and software, allowing an excellent level of optimization. The second premise, also related to the union, is to offer the best of two worlds: the portability of a tablet and the power of a laptop.

How to set default programs, file type and Library Save locations in Windows 10

When you want to use a file (either text, music, video, PDF or a website), Windows 10 searches the list of applications, files, protocols and partnerships by default to launch the right program. This list can be customized, adapting it to your favorite software.

1: Choose the default applications

When you play a video or try to read a text, Windows 10 chooses a default application depending on file type. These are the default programs, and by default Windows gives preference to its own applications. If you open a website it will do it with Microsoft Edge, and if you try to read a PDF document it will do it with PDF Viewer.

How to Configure Privacy in Windows 10

Since the release of Windows 10, there have been plenty of detractors ranting in their reviews on the collection and use of personal information that Microsoft makes with their new OS version. Some are furious and use the term ‘big brother’ and how they have gotten away with spying users. Privacy in Windows 10 is in question but in our opinion, these claims are exaggerated. Does Microsoft spy on users or is the user not properly using the settings?

The news of massive spying programs from agencies such as NSA and the alleged omission by act or the large technology companies seemingly looking the other way have triggered concerns about user privacy issues.
