As simple and elegant in its design as silent in its presentation, this ASUS laptop encloses many more interesting things than others that have made a lot more noise at CES 2017 in Las Vegas. Many of us like Laptops like this, discreet and light, without forgetting the minimum power to be able to perform everyday activities without problems.
No, it is not fair to compare it directly with the ThinkPad X1 Carbon, since this is a less demanding laptop than Lenovo’s, which introduced new technology and can be configured with very high specifications. But if we look for the lightest, thinnest 14-inch laptop, ASUS new laptop has a lot to say.
How much does it weigh? Well in official specifications it says 2.3 pounds, which is very little more than a kilogram.
That’s nothing for a device that offers you a pretty useful sized display, with Full HD resolution. Like Lenovo’s laptop, this ASUS laptop puts a 14-inch screen into the space that would normally be occupied by a 13.3 inches screen.
That “ASUSPRO” that you see in the images corresponds to the name that the Taiwanese brand puts to its professional line, and its surname is B9440, in case someone wants to look for it in more detail. It is a shame that the brand does not give more visibility to products so interesting, they could have chosen a better name.
So what are the drawbacks? Well, there doesn’t seem to be many, since the battery and performance were not affected very much. ASUS ensures that the battery life of the laptop can reach up to 10 hours with one charge, and there is room to put Intel’s seventh-generation Core i7 processors. You can fit up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of SSD storage.
The laptop is made of magnesium alloy, has a splash-proof keyboard and there is an integrated fingerprint sensor to enhance security, it’s not just in name this laptop is part of the professional family of ASUS laptops.
