Nvidia modified the GTX 980 for their inclusion in 17-inch Gaming laptops

In recent years, the power difference between desktops and laptops graphics cards has been cut. In fact, in the presentation of the GTX 980M, Nvidia indicated the fact that it had a 80% power of the GTX 980 for desktop computers, while the GTX 970M was at 60% power the GTX 970.

While for some gamers that look for a new laptop this is unacceptable, they are still the lucky ones. From now on, you can find laptops that have the GTX 980 chip in portable size, while maintaining their consumption of 165 W, with the cooling problems that may entail.

So it depends on manufacturers to create cooling systems that are suitable for these notebooks, and the MSI GT72 with the GTX 980 option is a huge laptop with 17-inch screen and more than 5 cm in thickness. But yes, Nvidia promises that these chips will operate at the speeds of the desktop versions, and also allow the same overclock, in the range of 200 Hz.

Release more than 20GB of your hard disk after upgrading to Windows 10

When you upgrade to Windows 10, the process leaves you the ability to reverse the changes. If it’s been several days and you are happy with the result, it’s time to get back that important disk space.

Those who use SSD know well that capacity doesn’t come in trees and 20GB is a significant amount of space that you can use for other things. Windows 10, in the process of upgrading from Windows 7 or Windows 8.1, allows us the ability to reverse the changes in a set of files which in total occupy around 20GB of disk space.

AMD launches new GPU for integrated systems

AMD has unveiled its new products in the field of GPUs for the professional market of integrated systems. These systems are used in a large number of devices and machines, many of which we use day to day and others that are for more specific tasks. GPU acceleration, both in terms of graphics as well for calculation, has its applications in advertising systems, industrial machinery control, communications infrastructure, equipment and medical machinery, as well as in entertainment applications, such as electronic gaming systems or video panels for events.

AMD integrated systems

AMD’s proposal for these markets comes with a new range of GPUs in different formats. On one hand we have models in PCI Express card format for these compatible systems with these standard cards. There will be full-size models and low profile ones for compact systems. For even more compact solutions there will be MXM PCIe cards, both of Type B with a maximum of 100 W and 105 x 82 mm in dimensions, as well as Type A with 82 x 70 mm and a lower TDP of 50 W.

Intel SSD 750, perfect for your enthusiast PC

The chip giant has extended the Intel SSD 750 series with a new 800 Gbytes storage capacity model that will delight a user who wants to mount or enhance its enthusiast PC or a professional who wants to add on its workstation.

The Intel SSD 750 Series is the first of its kind for PCs, as the manufacturer reserved it until now for the server segment. If an SSD is one of the star components of modern computing for its advantages over hard drives, then the models connected to PCIe are barely the icing on the cake.

Intel SSD 750

As this Intel series is sold in 2.5-inch form or as a card that can be placed on a PCIe Gen 3 x4 slot (just as you would with a dedicated graphic card), which uses the NVMe interface (Non-Volatile Memory Host Controller) with significant performance benefits compared to SATA bus.

Intel Core i7-6700K can go up to 6.8 GHz with overclocking

Intel introduced their first Skylake processors coinciding with Gamescom 2015 and professional overclockers didn’t miss the chance to test out these developments. And there’s a new record for the platform: Core i7-6700K can achieve 6.8 GHz.

We already saw in the Skylake special how the first models in sale from the top range for desktop computers weren’t exactly a revolution in performance because the results were not too far from their Haswell equivalents and even when it came to graphics they were well below of the few desktop Broadwell that have hit the market and that include an integrated Iris Pro 6200 of higher level.

The GTX 980 and GTX 980 Ti price’s go down

We already anticipated a possible drop in the prices by Nvidia after the release of the Radeon R9 fury and Fury X and it seems that it is finally beginning with the GTX 980 and the GTX 980Ti.

The price drops haven’t been particularly big and for now they are only noticeable on the known Newegg retailer, but we imagine it won’t be too long to spread to other countries.
