Top 10 most attractive ultrabooks on the market

  • by

Ultrabooks are one of the most attractive categories of personal computers and next to the 2-in-1 laptops and gaming dedicated computers, they are the ones pushing a market that’s been going downward in recent years. Ultrabooks stand out for their focus on mobility, with thin and light designs; some in convertible formats; use of premium chassis materials such as aluminum, magnesium or carbon fiber; great battery life; HD displays with sizes between 12 and 14 inches; SSDs for storage and sufficient processing and graphics card power. Today we dedicate our article to the most interesting models for sale and -thanks to the presentations at IFA 2016- others that will arrive starting this month. Attractive but not cheap, they require a minimum investment that stands at the barrier of 1,000 dollars and upward. (The numerical position is random and does not respond to any selection criteria)

Nvidia GTX 1060 vs GTX 960 vs GTX 970 vs GTX 980 vs GTX 1070 vs AMD RX 480 vs R9 390: Specs and Benchmark Comparison, which model should I choose?

  • by

Just a few weeks after the launch of AMD’s affordable Radeon RX 480, Nvidia counters with its proposal for the mainstream market. The new GeForce GTX 1060 is more expensive than the two Radeon RX 480 models and loses two gigabytes of VRAM compared to AMD’s 8GB, but Nvidia promise to compensate with more power, and performance levels like those of a GTX 980. A couple of years ago that meant an investment of almost six hundred euros. Today, thanks to this new card, just a little more than three hundred. It is an interesting offer, but does the GTX 1060 meets all it promises?

Based on the new GP106 chip using Pascal architecture, Nvidia processor has much in common with its equivalent of the previous generation, the GM206. The company took the model that uses the current top performance and reduced its CUDA cores by half, putting it at 1280 shaders. This gave us a good product (Though not a great one) with the GTX 960, but Nvidia has taken measures this time to improve performance, and as our tests show the leap is considerable.

Review: HP Omen 15-ax043dx Gaming Laptop Review

  • by

Recently, HP presents a laptop perfectly designed for demanding gamers that want to move around a lot.

On this occasion we review the OMEN 15-ax043dx , a computer with outstanding features for its price range and one that will allow you to go anywhere and still be able to enjoy your favorite games without much trouble.

This laptop is a great computer for those gamers looking for both power and portability in a single device. Usually, portable computers benefit more the latter than the former, but in the case of the OMEN 15-ax043dx we see that the that the scale leans a little more towards quality because it is slightly larger and heavier than average. Its dimensions are approximately 38 cm in width, 25 cm in depth and 2.5 in height (when the laptop is closed) and it weighs practically two kilograms, although depending on the characteristics you set up, it may vary slightly.

HP Omen 15-ax043dx

Its design is quite elegant. The exterior is made of durable carbon fiber of a slightly textured black color while the interior is of the same color but without texture. It has red accents (very typical in recent brand gamer laptop designs) although fewer than in other computers, like Asus GL552JX. This laptop feels sturdy and well manufactured so you’ll hardly have manufacturing problems with external parts, as long as you take care of your system as you should.

GDDR6 Memory, is it really a good idea?

  • by

With the announcement by Samsung that they are already developing the next graphic memories GDDR6 our conception of the industry has revolutionized “a little”. In this article we are going to question whether this type of memory is really needed considering that the HBM2 is at hand, and in fact the HBM3 is now also under development.

It’s been a few days since the memory industry was shocked. Guide: AMD Radeon RX 460 vs RX 470 vs RX 480 Specs and Benchmark Comparison, which model should I choose?

  • by

The new AMD RX and NVIDIA GTX 1000 are now available for purchase, a new generation of graphics cards with which their manufacturers have followed a very clear and distinct strategy.

On one hand, AMD has presented three new products: the RX 480, the RX 470 and the RX 460, while NVIDIA has presented a total of five: the 3GB GTX 1060, the 6GB GTX 1060, the GTX 1080 and the GTX TITAN X Pascal.

As we can see, the folks at Sunnyvale have made a more controlled launch, betting on upper middle and lower middle range products, but are working on Vega, their new high end graphics card, planned to be launched in 2017.

This strategy is easily understood for one simple reason, which is that they are trying to capitalize on the investment they made on the Fury and Fury X, equipped with HBM memory cards and that are capable of great performance.
