We already anticipated a possible drop in the prices by Nvidia after the release of the Radeon R9 fury and Fury X and it seems that it is finally beginning with the GTX 980 and the GTX 980Ti.
The price drops haven’t been particularly big and for now they are only noticeable on the known Newegg retailer, but we imagine it won’t be too long to spread to other countries.
On the one hand, the GTX 980 has dropped from $499 to $479, while the GTX 980 Ti went from $649 to $629.
Both reductions were small, barely $20, but it translates to the start of a small war that now forces AMD to reconsider the price of its Radeon R9 390X in the U.S, where it competes with the GTX 980 and it less powerful in 1080p resolutions, although when in 2k, both are almost in the same level.
For now, the best thing to do is to await for the prices to readjust and stabilize, except you find some kind of bargain you could describe as rare and unique.
