MAC Hellraiser is light lavander colour with blue, golden and silver shimmer. The lipstick is full of shimmer but the base colour is surprisingly pigmented. The shimmer doesn’t over power the base colour. Lavender does look lavender on lips .
The quality of lipsticks is equally good as all other MAC lipsticks. They are pigmented, have a signature MAC vanilla smell, are creamy and have a staying power of 3-4 hours.
The shimmer is not at all gritty or chunky. You wouldn’t even feel if you have anything shimmery on lips. The shimmer is very fine and is blended well with the lipstick. It goes on even on lips.
If you like shimmery lipstick and lip glosses, this is a two in one lipstick. You wouldn’t need a lip gloss on top of it. In fact, you can use this lipstick as a lip gloss over a matte lipstick. Personally, I think this collection is not for me but if you do like shimmery lipstick or lips gloss, do check out some of the shades in this collection.
Here is the swatch.
Now the biggest and the only problem with this lipstick is that even after I have wiped the lipstick from my lips, the glitter specs just don’t go away. Even after washing my lips/ face, I can still see the glitter on my lips. :(I have tried dusting it off with loose powder but it just doesn’t go. It goes away on it’s own after an hour or so.
I am not sure how much hell this lipstick has managed to raise but that’s how it looks on me? 😉
