I must confess that this is my first classic M.A.C lipstick from their regular line. I have a lot of sheen supreme shades but I never bought any of these regular ones. Thanks to IMBB, my bosses sponsored this Heroine lipstick for me to review. I knew this is a bold shade, almost a bluish purple, the most unique shade of lipstick I own till date. It really took me by surprise by coming out to be a very wearable shade. never in my life I could think of wearing it confidently outside but trust me, this is too gorgeous for words,it literally lights up the face.
The lipstick comes in that cute classic bullet shaped case of M.A.C. The lipstick says matte which makes me jump with joy. It is truly a matte shade and it goes opaque in no time. It is smooth to apply but not buttery or creamy. The pigmentation is amazing, you get full color in one go. The color is a bright purple but it has very strong blue tones to it. I think becuase I wore it with a cool toned pink blush and soft smokey eyes (no liner but just smudged black shadow) I could pull it off. For this, your base makeup has to have some pink tones to it. I have yellow tones to my face now, but still could wear this blue-toned shade!
The color has all the properties of a matte! This has thickness, tendency to get cakey, settle in lines of lips, feel dry, overtime you could see the lip lines easily, but I am matte lover, and seldom have dry lips so I love it. It lasted me forever, I wore it in two swipes and it lasted me from 4 pm to 10 pm with meals but of course fading away. It would get patchy and dry lips could look terrible in this shade and finish. I also noticed a slight staining but nothing bothersome.
Overall, if you love matte, purple, MAC, are pink or neutral skin-toned, wear pink blushes often, wear bold lips, then you gotta own this lipstick, I am quite loving this color for a change! Caution, if you are not used to matte lips, don’t buy it.
